I've made a list of the therapies that I have tried during my struggle. Some had greater benefits to me than others. I particularly liked the ones that gave my poor over-active brain a bit of a break, at least during the treatment. Things like Acupuncture, Mindful Meditation, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Massage and Reiki.

If there's an emotional or physical cause of your insomnia the following might be worth considering: EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or tapping) and Hypnotherapy.

I spent a fortune and I didn't always get it right; I saw two hypnotherapists before I found the right one. I tried EFT with one lady and felt really uncomfortable but, when I came back to it a few months later, with a different therapist, it was amazing, a life changer!  I don't know if I wasn't ready for it or if it she wasn't the right therapist for me.  So don't give up at the first hurdle!

A final warning be careful of people who charge a fortune and sign you up for several sessions at the beginning because, when you're feeling desperate you'll agree to anything.
